There is a Norwegian term called "Romjul" which are the days between Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Basically the last week of the year. But, more than just a calendar term, it’s also a ritual and a mindset to reflect on the year that past.
We love to build oddity bikes and it’s become part of our lifestyle and culture to build weird innovations that showcase the latest trend in our industry. Fat tires this year has made it for both MTB and road. Creating new categories that didn't exist a few years ago. Fat bikes and gravel road end up as the results of adding tires so wide that you didn't think it was possible and frame builders adopted these trends and somehow it's becoming a standard.
Electronic shifting is now more readily available from more than just two companies. This has also lead to hydraulic shiftings becoming available in road cycling.
This fatty build was part of some creative trends that we love in our industry. Remembering why we build bicycles was part of the fun too. The innovations that weren't possible a decade ago, are now a part of our daily lively hood.
Hope you all enjoy it and have a Happy New Year!
