Mario and Company have completely redesigned the BOND, We used to tell our clientele that the BOND is what we call the “OLD MAN’S” bike much like the Colnago C64, and the Cervelo S3. Please don’t be misconstrued by this term, as we do not mean it in a derogatory way whatsoever! What we are saying is it is a bike that you can ride all day without any aches or pains. All the bikes mentioned above are wonderful riding bikes, but we normally sell and build Lamborghini Aventadors and the bikes previously mentioned are more like a Bentley or Maycach’s. So, having said all that, the New Cipollini BOND II is analogous to the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera. Aggressive, yet beautiful, lightweight, yet powerfully rigid. A commandingly stable feel, and comfortable enough to do a double century be totally fine post-ride. With the step down lower mounted seat stays the redesigned stouter fork and down-tube, the bike has a completely new look as well, at first glance you may confuse the BOND II with its older sibling the NK1K, but one look at the seat-stays you will recognize the new bike!
The ride: With some Opposite traits the BOND II gives the rider a wonderful feel of a race-ready sprinting machine with the soft touch of an endurance bike. You may even feel inclined to take this machine on a gravel ride and you could… but given the largest tire that fits is a 700x30c, why dirty your beautiful masterpiece? Especially when Mario offers you the MCM Allroad!!
Final thoughts: A fine Italian Minestrone if you are considering purchasing a new steed for your stable... This bike will provide speed comfort and sexy all in one package! Take it to the Pebble Beach Concours d'elegance or just your local morning hammer fest! At the affordable sticker price of $3900.00 for the frame and fork, you will have some spending cash up in Carmel, and or buy coffee for all the envious riding buddies after the weekend hammer fest! Enjoy the ride! Great job Mario!
