The Colnago Super Sprint was one of the successors of the Colnago's classic Super model. First year production of the Colango Super Sprint was 1987. This 1988 Year Colango Super Sprint was build from a mix of Columbus SL and Cromor tubing (Columbus Cromor tubing to Ernesto Colnago's specifications); bottom bracket has the factory CROMOR marking in black paint BB, adding some stiffness for out of the seat riding and fast sprinting. Lugs were painted were the Colnago Supers of that generation. Going to the 3rd model year of 1989 for the Super Sprint, the head tube lugs were then chromo plated, moving away from the well-known Super 'painted lugs', to that of the Master type chrome lugs.
