Divo ST Campagnolo Super Record EPS Lightweight Gipfulstrum Complete Bike at twohubs.com

Brainchild of Pietro Caucchioli, the Divo ST is the vision of a man who has ridden over half a million miles and finished atop of the Giro d' Italia podium. Pietro, with his years of experience in product development within the Italian cycling industry, knew that there was truly something missing on the menu when it came to handmade Italian exotic bicycles.

The Divo ST is a hand-made tube-to-tube constructed carbon wrapped frame. It benefits from the tuned compliance of a lugged frame while taking advantage of the stiffness, aerodynamics, and good looks you'd expect from monocoque construction. Additionally, this handmade package allows the Divo ST to tip the scales at just around 900 grams to keep it at the front of the pack during ascents. Sprints, KOMs, or Gran Fondos - the Divo ST will be brilliant.

Able to compete against the stiffest and most aerodynamic of its Italian competitors, the Divo ST delivers compliance, style, and a truly versatile geometry that make it the best all around bike we've had to offer thus far. Offered in six off-the-shelf sizes ranging from XS to XXL, the Divo ST may also be purchased in custom geometry that is tailored to your needs.

PRO TeXtreme disc rear wheel at twohubs.com

Riders from the team that won the Tour De France used the new PRO TeXtreme® disc wheel during the competition. The PRO TeXtreme® wheels features the unique TeXtreme® Spread Tow carbon fabrics that reduce weight and improves mechanical performance of the wheel.

Professional cycling teams asked the development team of PRO to design a wheel that is lighter, more aerodynamic but with the same riding experience as PRO’s current wheels. With that challenge the development team started working on a new disc wheel. The results is the PRO TeXtreme® wheel and it is already giving results.

“We are happy to see PRO TeXtreme® wheels contribute to victories already and joining the team of winning TeXtreme® products like Formula 1, etc. We have many customers in the bicycle industry acknowledging the benefits of TeXtreme® and many new bike applications will hit the market soon, hopefully contributing to more victories.” says Andreas Martsman, Vice President Marketing & Sales of Oxeon.

By using the TeXtreme® Technology and a carefully selected resin system PRO was able to keep the weight below 1kg. The nominal weight of the PRO TeXtreme® disc wheel is 975 grams. The PRO TeXtreme® has an overall wide Aerofoil shape and a wide 24mm rim. The woven Spread Tow structure from the TeXtreme® Technology provides a superior surface smoothness. Compared to other wheels, PRO is using a unique wheel building method (pressurized oven) which allows them to create a monocoque (1 piece) construction instead of two half shells bonded together. The monocoque construction helps saving weight but keeps the same rigidity and excellent riding characteristics.

The win in Tour De France puts the PRO TeXtreme® wheels in good company with other winning TeXtreme® featured products and users in among other industries such as Formula 1, ice hockey sticks, surf boards.

TeXtreme® Technology is a flexible and tow size independent technology that enables development of ultra light composite reinforcement solutions tailor-made for specific application needs. TeXtreme® is produced spreading carbon fiber yarns into thin UD tapes that are used to weave a fabric. This renders optimized Spread Tow Tapes and Spread Tow Fabrics that enable production of composite parts that are 20-30% lighter with improved mechanical properties.

PRO 3 spoke TeXtreme front wheel at twohubs.com

PRO has launched what is claimed to be the fastest time trial wheel in the world and it’s a 3-spoke design.

The new PRO trispoke wheel was unveiled and first used at the opening team time trial at the Vuelta a EspaƱa. It was created with input from Team Sky, something PRO call ‘Co Creation’, so it should be spot on.

It is reinforced by TeXtreme, which lends a distinctive checkerboard pattern to the products it’s used in. TeXtreme is proving popular in the bike industry. It is based on using Spread Tows, instead of yarns, to achieve lighter weight, increased stiffness and higher strength compared to other carbon fibres. They claim to be able to create 20-30% lighter products, but with improved mechanical properties and superior surface smoothness.

Leon Van Strien, Product Manager at PRO, was keen to stress that, “With the selection of materials, we’ve been extremely picky. We used a mix of high level uni-directional (UD) fibers and Spread Tow fabrics. The outside TeXtreme layers have a double function. They keep the weight down and give a match in appearance with our rear TeXtreme disc wheel.”

The rim section is 65mm deep, whilst width is a very wide 28mm at the braking surface. The wheel weighs in at 740g and to prevent interrupting the air flow the valve is positioned behind one of the spokes. Having already worked together to produce the 975g PRO TeXtreme disc wheel Strien mentions above, the engineers at PRO and the Team Sky riders were well set-up to develop the wheel, both in terms of use of materials and tuning ride characteristics.
